Waldorf-Inspired Class Guidance

Grades-Specific Academic Support

Where every child is seen and supported

Parallel Learning

Class Guidance learning is designed to provide rich, Waldorf-inspired academic support in a warm, focused setting. These sessions function as intentional tutoring, strengthening grade-level skills in math and language arts while offering a parallel main lesson experience that brings concepts to life through story, discussion, and hands-on work.

Main lesson themes will rotate throughout the year, while math and language arts remain grade-specific, ensuring students solidify foundational skills and grow in confidence. Kept intentionally small, these groups allow each child to be truly seen, supported, and meaningfully challenged.

How we support our students

Experiental Learning Groups

Our morning lesson becomes a parallel, Waldorf-inspired exploration that deepens understanding while supporting grade-level growth. Each block centers on a rich theme—such as nature study, history, science, or literature—and unfolds through story, discussion, artistic response, and hands-on activity.

Rather than replacing a child’s core curriculum, this approach reinforces essential skills by bringing concepts to life in an imaginative and experiential way. Students engage with ideas through drawing, writing, movement, and conversation, strengthening comprehension, critical thinking, and expression while remaining grounded in grade-appropriate expectations.

Mathematics

grade-specific, focused, and skill-building. Each session is designed to solidify core concepts at grade level while strengthening number sense, accuracy, and mathematical confidence. Lessons blend clear instruction with hands-on practice, mental math, problem-solving, and real-world application. Students are guided step by step, ensuring they truly understand the “why” behind the process—not just the procedure. In a small-group setting, each child receives the support and challenge they need to grow steadily and confidently in their mathematical thinking.

Language Arts

intentionally structured to strengthen reading fluency, comprehension, writing mechanics, and expressive skills. Students engage with rich literature, guided reading, and structured writing practice to build clarity, organization, and voice. As students move into middle school, this work develops into formal essay writing, MLA formatting, research skills, and speech preparation—equipping them to communicate ideas confidently, both in writing and in presentation.
